High-Voltage Insulators

High-Voltage Composite Insulators

High-voltage composite insulator solutions

Dow SILASTIC™ High-voltage solutions have been providing more than 4 decades of reliability and consistency to the Energy market. Delivering excellent performance for high-voltage applications in all climates and harsh conditions, such as coastal, desert and industrial environments. SILASTIC™ high-voltage LSR and HCR solutions are optimized for various processing methods to produce surge arrestors, line posts, suspension, long-rod, and hollow-core insulators.

Insulators fabricated from top-quality, innovative high voltage silicone elastomers:

Excellent dielectric properties

Prevents polymer breakdown in various overvoltage types, including lightning and switching impulses.

High tracking resistance

Resists formation of conducting pathways along silicone surface and reduces arcing.

Low viscosity

Liquid silicone enables low-pressure molding processes and faster cavity filling.

Weather resistant

Sustained hydrophobicity, UV stability, low flammability ensures protection against outside elements.

Mold release

Easy to handle, allowing clean ready-made devices.

Reliable

Resilient silicone rubber stands up to environmental conditions, physical stresses, and vandalism.

SILASTIC™ Silicone Elastomers

How can our silicone elastomers help you to power the planet?

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) pouring from a plastic tube onto a cylinder

Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR)

SILASTIC ™ liquid silicone rubber (LSR) enables quicker mold filling and faster curing, resulting in shorter production cycles. LSR’s low viscosity allows for highly automated injection processes, reducing labor costs and increasing product efficiency. LSR can be molded into complex geometries and intricate designs, allowing for innovative product development. Our SILASTIC™ HV LSR products are commonly used for injection molding, hollow-core insulators, electrical stress control, cable end terminations, and surge protection.
